Please tell me at least one of you sung the title to this post. Come on, who was it? Someone had to! I was singing it dramatically in my head as I typed it, so don't leave me hanging! It is true, however dramatic it sounds, and I honestly can't remember the last time I took photos of myself. Not that I doubt my abilities or feel out of practice, because neither is true, but because for the first time in a long time I took my photos by myself because there was simply no other option. Oh well. I always complained about missing taking my own photos, so I guess I got exactly what I wanted in that respect, right? Ha. But you know what? It's ok! Because life is a beautiful ball of sunshine that I don't want to waste being a sad little rain cloud. So I won't. Which is why I'm taking a sweet, sweet road trip soon (leaving tomorrow!), that I can't wait to share with y'all.

I have several things buzzing around my head I want to mention, but I'll pick up where I left off and mention this road trip. The long and short of the matter is that I've never done anything by myself. Or at least, not like this. (I can cook and get dressed just fine on my own, thank you.) After the breakup I started feeling really restless and itching for some sort of getaway that could also possibly include adventure, soul searching, tall trees, and amazing blogger babes. Miraculously, I can safely say this solo road trip will include all of the above! I'll be meeting some amazing ladies (who I'm sure you probably also follow, if you follow little o'l me), and I cannot wait to turn our internet friendships into real life ones! Basically, I am super pumped (and a little nervous) and will be sharing it all with you. However, I gave my dad my laptop when I got my new desktop (omg thanks mom and dad!), so I won't be able to keep you posted on here every step of the way. (I know I updated via my iPad in Ireland, but since this trip is much shorter I'd just rather wait and edit photos on an actual compy screen.) But don't fret! I do plan to regularly update Instagram and Snapchat (@rya_pie), so follow me there for all the travel goodness if you don't already!
Next, if you can't tell from these photos, I bought a totally sweet pack of sparkly dust photos to add to my pictures to make them look magical and amazing. I used them for some one the newborn pictures I just did (yes, those will be posted next), and I am obsessed. You can click here to view the ones I purchased (only $10!), and you should check out the rest of the stuff in the shop as well. I also bought the glitter pack and used it for my gender reveal shoot with Ciera (which will also be up soon!). If you hate it, let me know. I don't edit my photos excessively and usually just add some sweet VSCO filters and call it a day, but I'm liking the occasional dusty sparkle. It makes me feel magical and weirdly empowered (with Photoshop knowledge?).
I most definitely sang the title and I absolutely love the fairy dust addition to your pictures! I'm looking forward to seeing your snaps about your road trip!
ReplyDeleteAh thank you! You and I are always in sync with music! And I am so glad you like the dust because so many people just don't get it at all!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sara!

I totally sang the title out loud, no shame!
ReplyDeleteA road trip sounds fun! I actually did the same thing after my ex of 4 years and I broke up back in 2009 - I spent 5 weeks traveling around Europe by myself! It was amazing and I learned so much about myself, and I will never forget that trip. It was so wonderful to travel alone - I met up with family and met new people too, of course, but I did the bulk of my traveling alone and it was a huge learning experience, for sure.
Also, I love the pink hair (not sure if you had mentioned it prior - I'm a little behind on posts!) and actually just did the same to mine yesterday. Love it!
Oh good! I am so glad you sang it! I often wonder when my readers are going to think I've officially lost it with all my sassy commentary and parenthesis.
DeleteTraveling Europe alone for 5 weeks sounds heavenly! If I could have swung that instead, I totally would have! So cool! Although I'm sure my mother would have an absolute heart attack at even the thought, haha.
And pink hair forever! Sadly mine is no longer pink, but I am loving the lilac, and hope your pink lived a little longer than mine!
