Piroshky Piroshky

Michael is pretty picky about who gets to touch his hair. I can't blame him, because I am the same way, and I'll be damned if anyone but Allison cuts my hair. His hair guru of choice is named Carly, and happens to work all the way up in Seattle at a place called Vain. (You can find her on Insta @carlycutsmyhair) By this point, M hadn't cut his hair for just about year, was super over his man bun, and wanted a new short, sleek look. I had been sending him photos of some very dapper cuts, and we were planning to leave early so we could go to the zoo before his appointment.

Our Seattle adventure sounded perfect. Sadly, we left the house a little later than intended, but I don't even know if that really mattered because the zoo was freakishly packed. M said he'd gone on weekends and never seen it that full, so who knows. It was crazy busy for a Wednesday, and we couldn't even find a parking space! I was pretty bummed out by it all, but we headed downtown and I cheered right up. We popped into Lush so I could get a refill on my amazing moisturizer, and a mother's day gift (you're welcome mom), and then we headed into Zara because it's one of our fav stores. M immediately spotted this gorgeous butter yellow coat that I had to have (shame on him), and I also found a kids dress that I fell head over heels for. After that we had just enough time to walk over to his appointment and get him all gussied up.

After M's hair appointment (I am loving his new look), we knew we needed to head out to avoid rush hour, but were also starving, so we made a quick stop into Piroshky Piroshky to get some deliciousness before the drive home. If you've ever been to Pike Place Market, chances are that you've smelled the heavenly wafts of this place around you. It's pretty famous, and was featured on an episode of No Reservations by Anthony Bourdain. Michael got two different savory buns, and I go this poppyseed cinnamon bun thing. So good. Stop by if you're ever in the neighborhood, you will have zero regrets.

After eating we scurried back to the car and headed home. Michael missed our proper freeway exit on the way, and we ended up getting detoured in the Beacon Hill area of Seattle, which I fell completely in love with. As many of you know, I am a small town desert girl, and the city jut freaks me out to no end. The thought of moving into some mass apartment in the heart of Seattle was quite daunting for me, and also had me worried about Chai. I'm so happy we got lost and were able to see the area we did because it was so green and suburban looking that I instantly felt comforted and at home. I'm pretty excited to move now!

    1. Thank you! Michael always loves it when I wear it wavy/curly as well! I am totally obsessed with his new hair! It's so much shorter, but in a great way. I forgot how much I loved him with short hair. I can't wait to share some photos with my styling of it. I used some pomade so it looks super old school.

  2. Love how your hair looks here with the wavy texture and the clip on one side, lovely! The red dress & lippie also adds to the charm, it goes perfect with you! Great that you loved your new neighborhood area, oh and so fun you told about Zara kids section, I frequently pay it a visit because they have some good pieces there that should definitely be in bigger sizes :)

    1. Thank you so much!
I actually liked the things in the kid's section way more than in the adult section! A lot of their current line seems very norm-core to me, which I'm not a huge fan of. At all.

      They're such old shoes, I didn't even think about a closeup! They're basically a multi-colored snake print!
