Spring Drizzle

Saturday, March 21, 2015

In true Washington fashion, the first day of spring was gray and rainy. I certainly wasn't feeling any spring fever when I threw on my trusty thrift sweater and some jeans, but I love this outfit, so it's all good. You can definitely tell it's raining in these photos, which made my hair start to frizz, but oh well. It was fun snapping these out on our dock, even though I almost slipped and died when I jumped to the little floating dock I'm standing on in these photos. Ok, maybe not died, but I could have fallen in our freezing cold lake that also has leeches in it, so that would have been terrible.

Today was pretty fantastic besides the rain. After our landlord and his handy man (who kept trying to sell us weed...awkward) finished removing the wood stove from our cabin and left, my mom came by and picked me up so we could head to Lush. The nearest Lush is all the way in the Tacoma mall, which is a bit of a drive from Oly and there is always traffic so I never go too often. I had such a good day shopping around with my mom and we met the sweetest lady at the Lush store. I feel like we totally bonded (hi if you're reading this!) and she asked me if I could do her makeup for her wedding because she liked mine so much! What a cray compliment, am I right? So it'll be really cool if that ends up happening!

I've been thinking for a long time about getting business cards, but do I get separate ones for my photography, makeup, and blog? Do I carry around one card with all the info? I don't know! Someone help me out here! I'm thinking of just trying to get a simple one that combines all three and links to my blog....but I don't know. Opinions? Help me out! Let me know!

  1. This thrifted mock neck sweater is awesome! For some reason it gives me a 70s Brady Bunch vibe in the best way possible.

    1. Yes! I will be 70's Brady Bunch forever! It's so funny because I tried it on as a joke and ended up so in love with it. When I was in Ireland, some of my classmates started calling it my "sexy Velma sweater," which was weird...but comical.

  2. You should totally have a card that has all of your info on it! That way people can see that you've got multiple talents :)
Also your photos here are really beautiful!

  3. My business card is for everything - blog, styling, vintage store...the whole thing. I think it's best to do it that way, and I've seen quite a few other bloggers who have more than one title doing the same thing. Anyways, that's just my opinion, of course.
You look beautiful as always! And man, would I kill to live right near a lake!

    1. It definitely seems to be the most practical way to go! I ordered a small amount with all three titles, although right after they shipped I found a slightly better way to word it (of course, haha). Still, I'm excited to see them and can't wait to be able to hang them out or give some to my hairdresser. I found cards with woodland creatures on them! Oh yes.
Thank you very much! And the lake is gorgeous. Totally worth being 20 minutes away from town. Although I would kill to have a washer and dryer!
