mac lipstick in nicki 2

Hello again and welcome to my second Makeup Monday! I'm pleased to actually be sticking to this new feature (sofar, haha) because usually I attempt to start such things and then don't follow through. However lately I just feel my blog improving and picking up and I want to help it along, not only with better photos and more regular posting, but with a more regular mix of features and not just outfits. I also plan to start a Sunday Yumday so that I get to baking (and maybe cooking) more often. I tend to bake way more in the summer when I'm in a better mood, but baked goods need no season, so I hope to start that feature this coming Sunday! Let me know what you guys think of these new additions, ok?

Anyways, today I decided to do my favorite purple lippies since I was already wearing one that matched my shirt for today's outfit! The first one (shown above) is rather quirky, and I definitely wear more in the spring and summer than any other time, but is sadly no longer available. Nevertheless, I still wear it all the time, and finding other pastel lipsticks aren't too hard to find I don't think. This color is definitely more adventurous, but I think as long as you're willing to go for it, it's one that is a lot of fun. Here is one that seems like a pretty close match. See it with an outfit here.

Plum Dandy is one of those colors I think everyone should own. I know that purple lipsticks may be out there for some people, but this color is slightly sheer, and so versatile that I think it could fit into anyone's beauty drawer. It matches a lot of different colors since it is frosted, which makes it worth the money as well! Even though I got this pretty recently, I've already worn it a lot. See it with an outfit here.

This is the lipstick I wore at the start of the day, and it definitely doesn't get worn enough. Rebel is such a great purpley-red and I think it goes with a lot as well. Perhaps not a necessity for your collection, but it's a great pop of color that isn't too crazy. It's most certainly a color I'm happy to have on hand.

If you haven't noticed yet, I've been moving from lighter to darker colors in my lipstick posts, and this is definitely a dark shade of purple. I actually picked it up awhile back while I was searching for a black lipstick, and this was the closest thing the kind ladies at my local MAC store could offer me. While it is by no means black, it still makes quite a statement. I love this color. It is so rich and I think would be great for those who go out a lot at night, or are just lipstick addicts like me! It also looks amazing when mixed with Rebel, which you can see an example of in this very old outfit post.

I hope you guys aren't already bored of looking at closeups of my face, because I'm really enjoying doing these beauty posts for y'all. Like I said, please share any thoughts with me!

  1. I am obsessed with lipstick, and I love Cyber! I might need to get it at some point. You should check out Colourpop! They have a lot of colors (lots of pastel and purple!) and they're only $5 each! :D

    1. Ooooooooo! I definitely do need to check that out then! I've been wanting to add to my collection of more unique colors! Sometimes I'll use eyeshadow to make a color I don't have, but it's so drying.

About this post, my favourite lipstick is of course the lilac one, but the second one also looks pretty on you :)

  3. If you're still looking for a black lippy, LimeCrime Black Velvet is amazing! It's kinda like a gloss that dries matte and NEVER comes off (until you eat greasy pizza lol). I also have a Makeup Forever black lipstick which is a more cream texture, I like both!

    1. Ooh I'll definitely have to look into the LimeCrime one! I love matte lipsticks! I did manage to snag a black lipstick from MAC that went on a limited sale, but a matte one would be right up my alley! Thank you!

  4. I think purple is every bit as wearable as other colors of lipstick (and orange!) you just have to find the right shade for your coloring and preferences! These are all so pretty, but Rebel is GORGEOUS. I need that color. Now that I got bright purple and a dark purpley red, I am looking to get even more purples, because they're such a good color!
