Around Evergreen

Just warning you right now guys, this post has more photos than usual for my outfit posts! That being said, it's because Michael and I went around to a few spots on our campus (or rather, my campus, his alma mater) to take these outfit photos! We were on campus anyway, because I had to meet with an academic advisor about the ridiculous mess that my class schedule had become for this coming quarter. I'll explain more about that later (everything is alright now), because first we must talk about the amazing flats I'm wearing in this post! Not only do they match this little jumper perfectly, but they are also cute little bears! They are my third pair of Loly in the sky shoes (see the others here and here), and I love them even more than my other two pairs! They are from her newest line, which consists of nothing but entirely fabulous flats, sneakers, and wedges. Oh yes, they have it all. When they contacted me about doing a collaboration, I nearly flipped out of my pants! I immediately called my mom and then Michael. Too exciting, am I right? Anywho, scroll on for more photos of my campus, my lovely Loly's, and what I paired them with! Oh! And these are the first pictures taken with my new camera! So in love! Ok, I'm done, I promise!

Ok, so the shoes are crazy amazing, correct? I adore them! I got them awhile back, but right when I did the weather turned from sun to rain! I didn't want to do a shoot of them indoors, because they deserve so much more than that, and yet I felt bad having them sitting there without posting about them! Thank goodness it ended up being so nice out! I didn't even have to wear socks or tights, and that's crazy! I'm so happy about it that's it's silly. The flats from her line also have a bunch of padding and support in them! The shoes have always been comfy, but man do these just take the cake!

And to finish, a bit about the crazy stressful spring break I've had! I always, and I mean always register for my classes on time. And by doing so, I always get into the classes I want. The exact same thing happened for spring quarter. I decided to go for a combination of smaller credit courses than one 16 credit program, like usual, because none of the ones offered for spring particularly interested me. This was all well and good (I registered for beginners Spanish, a creative writing class, and a class on helping others). All the classes seemed like a good way to end the year and wouldn't be too challenging or stressful (ha!). Well mid-break I went to check the schedules (thankfully), only to notice that one of the classes now stated that it was being held in Grays Harbor, which is an hour away from my home. I freaked out and immediately tried finding a replacement class. However, since the smaller credit courses at Evergreen aren't really designed to fit together, so much as they are to just compliment a larger course or be taken alone. The schedules are basically all conflicting. I finally ended up dropping my helping class and writing, and was waitlisted for an astronomy and cosmology, and a gender and race writing class. Everything lined up and all was well...so I thought. Then I got an email from one of the professors on Wednesday saying that her class would also have occasional mandatory Thursday meetings. Ah! This was not stated anywhere and conflicted with my Spanish class! I could not have been more in a pickle. I messaged her about the schedule problem, but she never responded. Thank goodness Michael had experience talking to the academic advisors and suggested I go talk to them. I ended up sitting down with the absolute nicest woman who helped me sort all things out since she was able to see what classes even still had openings! So now, I am completely enrolled in Spanish (yay!), some class about the history of Washington (meh), and a poetry class that goes to spoken word and other live poetry performances! I am pretty excited. The way it is, I'll have to miss two Thursdays of my Spanish class, but I think it's worth it to hear some sweet poetry, especially since I got the only seat left in that class. Whew. I am so relieved. I was freaking out.

Sorry this post was so long! If you read it all, then I commend you! If you only read the shorter paragraphs, then I don't mind either. My schooling doesn't affect you in any way, it's just nice to vent! Hope it's starting to be a little springy wherever you are!

  1. Ugh I'm sorry about your scheduling problem. That really sucks when you do everything right and everything ends up wonky. It happened to me a couple semesters too but it all worked out in the end. I'm glad you got it figured out!

Anyway, I really love this spring-y outfit. The gingham top and dotted pinafore are so perfect together. I just love how these prints look paired together! Your shoes are absolutely adorable too.

    1. Yes! Thank goodness it worked out! I need exactly 16 credits to graduate, so I would have freaked if I had to stay another quarter!

Thank you very much! I just kind of threw the pieces together because the shoes had both colors, but they meshed really well! I still can't believe I didn't have tights on!
