Not A Moth

Saturday, January 31, 2015

I fell in love with this quirky print the second I spotted it at H&M, thinking it was of cicadas, which I love and have many fond childhood memories with. Upon closer inspection however, they revealed themselves to be moths, which I adamantly hate and am terrified of. I'm serious. They scare the crap out of me. At that point though, I was already attached to the top and decided I could just pretend it was covered in cicadas and everything would be alright. It was. I paired it with these fantastic super high-rise pants I found at TJ Maxx and was in love. Michael and I took Chai for a walk around capitol lake and then took these photos. It was great.

I did a couples photoshoot the other day, and one of the places we ended up venturing were these railroad tracks, which I had never been to before. I think the bend in them is just picture perfect and so I had to get some shots of my own there. I really love how these turned out and I hope I haven't completely spammed you with shots.

  1. OMG I can relate - I got so excited when I found a dress on ModCloth (red with black polka dots) that I immediately bought it without looking that close to it. I wanted it because it reminded me of Rizzo in Grease but only when I had bought it did I realize it had ladybugs all over it! I hate ladybugs! oh well, it's too cute! maybe we'll get over our fears by wearing these items more and more?

    1. Oh my goodness, I almost bought that same dress! It is super cute, even if it is covered in bugs, haha. Maybe it'll help us, and if not, we'll still look good.

  3. I hate moths and pretty much all bugs, but in print form on this sweater they're ok!...haha. I LOVE the color of your pants. They're so fall-y and awesome. :)

    1. I'm so glad you know how I feel, haha. Moths are just awful. And I do *love* these pants! The color is pretty unique I think.

  4. I'm really loving this outfit and that brilliant yellow coat. To be honest I'm not the biggest fan of moths either. Ever heard of the 'Mothman'? Oh god. The print is very sweet though and I think it could certainly pass off as a cicada looking print from afar.

    1. Thank you so much! The coat is definitely a fantastic color. And Mothman was clearly created to give children (or me) nightmares. Yuck.
