Dinner With M's Parents

I am a huge fan of tulle. This dress with a pink tulle skirt is one of my favorites, but I've only worn it once before, since the top of it is a black tank top type of deal. The dress is also unbearable without tights because the elastic between the top and the bottom is unbelievably itchy. Then, the other day, I pulled out this sweater and thought to myself...hmmm...maybe that'd work over that dress...
Well it did! I absolutely love how this outfit came out, and even though I would have prefered a different belt, I don't own very many, and I think this one worked for a defined waist in a jiffy.

And now we're going to talk about these tights. Michael bought these for me at Target, and I couldn't wait to get them on. Not only are they a cute and cozy winter knit pattern, slight, but noticeable, but they are also *wait for it* fleece lined! Who knew such things even existed! I mean, I knew fleece lined leggings existed, but the only pair I ever had were extremely awkward fitting, and I soon stopped wearing them because they were so uncomfortable. These, however, are amazing! They are stretchy and comfy and fuzzy and warm and adorable. I'm in love. M also got me them in a nice knit grey and I can't wait to wear those as well!

In other news, tonight I am going to an event my friend Vanessa is throwing called Fakesgiving, which is her version of a Thanksgiving for friends before we all go our separate ways for the holidays. I missed it last year, so I'm pretty excited! I said I'd bring dessert, so I've made a slightly altered (and better, I'm going to have to post a new version of the recipe) version of the pumpkin snickerdoodle blondies I posted the other day, and my rosemary walnut cookies. I figured with both of those things, I should have everyones tastes covered.

On the day I wore this, M and I drove up to Woodinville to give his mom a Seahawks gift set I bought her from Pink, and then we all went out to dinner, which was super fun. I can't wait until my parents are in town for Christmas so I can go out and do fun family things with them. The last time I saw my mom was when she came to visit during my spring break before I went to Ireland, and my it's been even longer since I saw my step dad or the dogs. I must say I miss them all very much.

Love & Sunshine,
Mariah Alysz

  1. Super cute! It totally looks like a skirt the way you styled it! I love the sweater with it as well. I am now on the hunt for a pair of those tights! They totally look like a normal pair of tights - you'd never know of their cozy fleece inside!!! Go, M!
