In The Garden

Michael is getting so good at taking my photos that I think I may be out of a job. Seriously, wait until you see the rest of these, I am constantly impressed. I don't even have to tell him what iso or shutter speed to use any more, he just clicks away when he picks up Pierre (my camera) and takes photos like these ones. Color me happy. I still do the editing and such after he snaps away, but I am constantly being reminded of how much easier it is to get the shots I want when I'm not limited by a tripod. It's not just shots I want though, it's the things he brings to the process as well, for instance, the watering can in these was all his idea. Thank god I'm still the one putting my outfits together or he may as well take over my blog entirely haha. Not yet guys, not yet.

As you can see, this day was gorgeous, and M and I spent all the time together we could before we he had to go to work, which was nice. Sometimes I think it's best to pause and remember that the simple things we get to do together still count as spending time with one another, even if it isn't new or exciting, or has become routine since we moved in together. One of my favorite things to do is make us both lunch before he scampers off to work. It's pretty simple, and I'm usually just making us both sandwiches, but I love feeling like I made his day a little easier while also getting to spend time eating and chatting with him, or laughing over an episode of Psych or Adventure Time. It's the little things, my friends. Sorry if I'm getting all sappy on y'all, I'm just feeling the love. A few days ago I came home from work to find a big bouquet of flowers waiting for me that he had picked from all around the yard. I'm pretty lucky. Maybe I'll just do a photo shoot with both of us and get all this gushing out of my system.

After M left for work on this day I did my usual cleaning and what not before turning to baking, which I've been doing a lot of lately and it feels great. I made some blueberry cornbread muffins, took a break for a bit, found I still wanted to bake some more, and then made some chocolate raspberry cookies, which I hope to do a blog post on soon as well, as they were pretty tasty (and that's coming from someone who doesn't generally enjoy chocolate). I made them for a birthday party bbq I'm throwing for my dear friend Seán tomorrow (you may remember him from such post as this one from Ireland), so hopefully he likes them. I'm also going to be making him some chocolate cheesecake brownies with a raspberry glaze, so if that is as tasty as it sounds I'll do a post on it too!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far and getting some good great weather. I've been enjoying the sunshine like none other. I keep telling M how much I'll hate it when summer ends. He just smiles and tells me he knows. I am a summer creature after all. Oh well. At least he prefers fall and winter, so both of us aren't totally discontent with the weather at once.

Love & Sunshine,
Mariah
