Playing Dress Up

Thursday, April 3, 2014

I don't know if these count as outfit photos. Is this an outfit post? They feel more like dress up photos that Michael and I just took for funsies before we went out on an impromptu date. Whatever, I think they're too good to not post. I'll still tell you what I'm wearing.

On this day I went to an event at my local MAC store called Forward Fashion in which you make an appointment with a MAC person of your choice (I picked my go to girl, Amanda) and pay $50 to hold your appointment spot. When the day comes you get one full hour of one-on-one time with your person and they show you how to do new looks and what's "in" on your face. Pretty cool. When I went their little guide line packets of looks hadn't arrived yet, so I told Amanda to just do what she wanted, and she went all out on a Twiggy inspired look, which was so much fun. I usually don't wear this much makeup, but it was an absolute blast getting all made up with falsies and little twiggies under my bottom lashes. The works. When I got home M said I looked too good not to get dressed up and go out, so that's what we did.

I put what Michael wore in the second set of brackets just for a laugh since he looked so good and there are an equal amount of photos of him in this post. I love when he gets dressed up. Let me tell you, back when we were in class together I caught a glimpse of him outside as I walked to class wearing pretty much this same outfit and nearly had a heart attack when he said "hi" to me, but I digress.

The days are getting ever fewer until I leave for Ireland and I am so excited! M and I just had our one year and prankiversary was a great success. I had been saving banana peels with my roommates for about a month and when the time came I got up in the middle of the night and peeled everything of his. I even draped one over the top of his water bottle because he reaches for it in the morning so he woke up to a nice handful of slimy banana peel. It was great. I have photos, don't worry. He convinced me that he thought I liked golfing and that we were going to go golfing for hours as my gift. I was so confused. Where did he even get the idea that I like golfing? I've never even been real golfing. Then he tells me I can't wear makeup because we'll get all sweaty and rained on and the people at the golf course will laugh at us and I started doubting his story. Turn out he had planned facials and a foot soak for us at a spa attacked to the golf course. It was amazing. If you've never had a facial, I highly recommend one. My skin looks beyond bright and amazing. We also got this electro-magnetic foot soaks that pull out toxins from the bottom of your feet....it was so weird. M's water turned orange and mine was so dark brown it looked black, and they both started clear. After that we went home and changed and went out to a beyond amazing dinner at Altura in Seattle. We ordered their tasting menu which was 11 courses of tiny little servings of the best food I've ever eaten in my life. So. Good.

Needless to say, my week has been going well. hope yours is too.

Love & Sunshine,
Rya Pie

  1. You both look so fantastic! M reminds me of someone from the Beatles! And your makeup appointment and spa date sound SO good. I want to go to a spa someday. When I have the time and money for it!
I cannot wait to hear about your adventures in Ireland! AH! So jealous.

    1. Thanks! He totally does look like he'd be in the band, never thought of that until now, most people just compare him to Ferris Buller lol.
And you should definitely go if you get the chance, it was fantastically relaxing.
