Channeling The Desert

Tacoma is a pretty alright place. Where I'm from it has a pretty sketch reputation, but the handful of times I've been there, I've always had a good time and enjoyed the general feel of the place. I suppose like most cities it has its good and bad parts, but that's where Michael took these photos of me. We were on our way to parents house but stopped in Tacoma for some food because traffic was so bad. It was the same day that I tried my first photo every hour. We ended up eating at the Spaghetti Factory, which is always yummy, but a little silly seeing as M is lactose intolerant and is always in pain afterwards. Silly boy. He insists that the food is worth it always, but coming from someone who used to be completely allergic to dairy, I just don't understand. I'd rather just avoid some food and not be in pain, but maybe that's just me.

This shawl or cape or whatever thing is one of my favorite things in my closet. It instantly adds so much color and texture to an outfit. I originally bought it to wear on the plane to Arizona because I am all about being comfortable on an airplane, and then I saw it in my closet the other day and thought what a shame it was that I hadn't worn it since (which I soon realized was because of the weather haha) but I thought it would be nice to take it out for a spin again. I stopped by my local MAC store and my favorite girl that works there told me I looked like "a little Sacajawea baby" which cracked me up. I told her I was just channeling the desert since I'm from there. To be honest, I hadn't really thought of it being super southwestern until I looked at it again and then it hit me like a brick to the face. WHAM. It really is western. My bad I guess haha. What can I say? I'm a desert girl at heart.

Either way, denim on denim is still in so I'm just going to chalk it up to good fashion sense.

I hope everyone is having a good week and has fun or relaxing (or both) plans for their weekend. I'll be posting more in between working.

Love & Sunshine,
Rya Pie
